  • Training Shortlisted for 2016 Patient Choice Gp of the Year Award – 1 of 3 GPs nationally Dr. Laura O’Flynn, a native of Portmarnock, joined her father Dr. Martin O’Flynn in family practice in early 2014. Upon finishing her Business & German degree in Trinity College in 2003, she returned to the Royal College of Surgeons to study medicine and graduated in 2009. During that time she also completed a Bachelor degree in Medical science, specializing in Diabetic Care, allowing her to complete a summer elective in the Johns Hopkins Endocrinology Department in Baltimore. On graduating, she was awarded the Dr. John O’Leary GP Gold Medal and the Beaumont Hospital McDonnell Prize in her Final Surgical exams. Laura completed her intern year in Beaumont Hospital in 2009 and the Trinity HSE Dublin GP Training Scheme in 2014. She has worked in all the major Dublin Hospitals. In 2014 she completed her 18 month Graduate Certificate in Obstetric Ultrasound, run via UCD and the NMH Holles Street, which allows her to undertake early pregnancy scans. Additional qualifications include the Diploma in Womens Health, the ICGP Family Planning Course, BLS and ACLS courses. Working with her father, Laura is committed to maintaining his longstanding tradition of providing a caring and conscientious service to all patients, and welcomes both private and medical card (GMS) patients. Dr. Laura is also now a trainer on the RCSI GP training scheme. Special Interests: Women's Health, Antenatal Obstetric Ultrasound Scanning, Diabetic Care. Medical Council no. 361282
